Dear jurors and restaurateurs,
It is a great pleasure for me to invite you to the annual gala dinner for the Nordic Prize. This year the event will take place at Restaurant Grefsenkollen in Oslo on 5 February at 1830. As in previous years the organiser will cover the cost of travel, accommodation and the dinner itself for one juror and one representative from the finalist restaurant from each country. For this purpose we have allocated a number of rooms at Carlton Oslo Hotel Guldsmeden located in Parkveien 78 close to the city center of Oslo. If any of these guests would like to bring spouses or if additional seats at the dinner is requested, the price for such additional seats will be NOK 2200. For additional foreign participants we have negociated prices for rooms at the Carlton Hotel as follows: Single room NOK 795, Double room NOK 895.
A bus will be set up outside the hotel to leave on 5 February at 1800 to take the foreign guests to Grefsenkollen, which is located at the outskirts of Oslo with a spectacular view over Oslo and the Oslo fjord. Please find attached the menu for the gala dinner.
Several participants have indicated a desire to visit Restaurant Maaemo while in Oslo. Maaemo came second in the Norwegian competition for the Nordic Prize. Pontus Dahlstrøm at Maaemo has agreed to open the restaurant for lunch on Monday 6 February for visitors to The Nordic Prize Gala Dinner. Full lunch at noon are available for NOK 1500 inclusive of beverages.
As with last year, the results of the Nordic Prize competition will form part of the base for the guide “The 66 best restaurants in the Nordic countries”, which is due to be published in May 2012.
Can I please ask you, at your earliest convenience, to let me know who is going to take advantage of the free seats for the gala dinner from each country? Booking of additional seats, additional hotel rooms and lunch at Maaemo should also go through the undersigned.
